The wbk Institute of Production Science at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) has been working on industry and research projects in China since 2006 and gained extended experience since then. In 2009, the wbk Institute of Production Science together with its program partners decided to found Suzhou SILU Production Engineering Services Co., Ltd. as part of its growing industrial work in China. In order to promote market knowledge, strengthen its competencies on global production networks and provide premium professional manufacturing capabilities as well as trainings and research, the wbk Institute of Production Science started its first activities in China by founding the Global Advanced Manufacturing Institute (GAMI).
To further enhance industrial relationships, offer unique engineering services as well as training, SILU Production Engineering Services based in Suzhou was established. It is supported by wbk Institute of Production Science and its business partners.
SILU built on more than five years of operations in China by its partners and has well-trained team members with extensive project experience. Today, SILU Production Engineering Services offers solutions in the fields of production engineering, supply chain management and organization development. Its industry knowledge is based on home appliances, industrial products and in the automotive field.
Our office building is located at Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), which located in the east of Suzhou's Jinji Lake with a total area of more than 288 km2. SIP is the largest joint project between China and Singapore government. With an annual growth of 30% and a modern infrastructure it is a flagship for international cooperation and economic development.
Suzhou is easy to access, because of its great network of highways, railways, waterways and airports. By train it takes only 20 minutes to get to Shanghai and about 60 minutes to get to Nanjing. The nearest airports are Suzhou Airport, Shanghai Hongqiao and Shanghai Pudong. State Highways as well as several expressways link major cities such as Shanghai, Hangzhou and Nanjing.
